The Scout Troop is where our young people truly step into their own. Designed for girls and boys aged 10 to 14, this section focuses on developing confidence, independence, and the resilience needed for secondary school and beyond.
The Scout program is dynamic, challenging, and youth-led. We give them the independence to put their skills into practice and the encouragement to take the lead:
Practical Leadership: Scouts are actively encouraged to work together, leading and planning their own projects—from designing weekly meeting activities to support their local community by getting involved with the other community groups.
Ultimate Adventures: We build on basic outdoor skills with real challenges. Activities range from essential skills like advanced camping, survival, and cooking to thrilling adventures like abseiling and zorbing.
Global Horizons: Scouts get the chance to practice their self-reliance during extended camps and expeditions, giving them a taste of responsibility and self-sufficiency.
Future Focus: Beyond the activities, the program encourages them to explore their personal beliefs, attitudes, and creative potential, helping them define who they are.
As always, participation is the key approach. We celebrate effort over perfect execution. Scouts earn a diverse range of Badges and Awards to recognize their mastery of both traditional Scouting skills and modern, adventurous challenges. Beyond this section, they have the option to progress as Young Leaders, mentoring the Cubs and Beavers, and often become the future volunteers who shape the movement. It’s the essential stage for turning capable young people into confident, prepared leaders for life.
