Beavers (Ages 6–8): Discovery Starts Here

The Beaver Scout Colony is where the adventure truly begins! Our Beavers are girls and boys aged 6 to 8, and they are the youngest, most energetic members of the 11th Barry Sea Scout Group.

For this age group, every week is focused on making friends, exploring, and gaining confidence. They dive into the fun of Scouting with an introduction to outdoor activities, exciting creative projects, and learning how to be active citizens in their local community.

We specialize in those exciting "firsts":

• First Nights Away: The excitement of their very first Beaver sleepover with their friends, and their initial taste of a big Scout camp.

• Creative Fun: Opportunities to get messy, be loud, and express themselves through games and projects.

• Real-World Trips: Safe and supported trips and days out that expand their horizons.

The key approach is always participation. Beavers get to try a wide variety of challenges, and they earn Badges and Challenge Awards just by showing enthusiasm and effort. It’s all about recognising their achievements and building confidence, not setting strict standards. It’s the perfect, fun start to their Scouting journey!
